1. Who we are & acceptance of these terms

The CE Network (the "Platform", available at ceopportunitynetwork.com) is operated by Campus Elite Jamaica ("Campus Elite", "we", "us"). By creating an account, ticking the agreement box at sign-up, or continuing to use the Platform, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and to our handling of your personal data as described in Section 6. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

2. Eligibility & student verification

• The Platform is for students (and recent students) of recognised Jamaican tertiary institutions. You must be at least 16 years old.
• Membership benefits — including the member network ("Uni Connect"), activities, and rewards — require a completed profile verified by Campus Elite as belonging to a real university student. We may request supporting evidence (for example a student ID or an acceptance letter) solely to confirm student status.
• You agree that the information you provide is true, accurate, and yours. Accounts found to be fake, duplicated, or misrepresenting student status may be suspended or removed.

3. Your account

• Keep your login credentials confidential; you are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us immediately at admin@campuselitejm.com if you suspect unauthorised use.
• One account per person. You may close your account at any time (see Section 6.5).

4. CE Points, XP & rewards

• CE Points (CEP) and XP are loyalty units earned through participation. They have no monetary value, are not redeemable for cash, and may not be sold or transferred except through features we provide (such as member point transfers).
• Season resets, expiry, adjustments, and correction of errors (including points obtained through abuse or malfunction) are at Campus Elite's reasonable discretion.
• Rewards, giveaways, and activities may carry their own supplementary rules published with the offer; those rules apply in addition to these terms.

5. Community conduct & Uni Connect

• Be respectful. Harassment, hate speech, impersonation, spam, and unlawful content or conduct are prohibited and may lead to suspension or removal.
• Uni Connect features (connect requests, Small Talk, badges, activity feeds) are designed so that you choose what other members see. Contact details such as your Instagram or WhatsApp are only revealed to another member when you explicitly turn on that share for an accepted private connection — and you can turn it off again at any time.
• Do not use member information obtained through the Platform for unsolicited marketing, scraping, or any purpose outside the Platform's community features.

6. Data protection & privacy

Campus Elite is committed to full compliance with the Data Protection Act, 2020 (Jamaica) ("DPA") and applicable data-protection standards. For the purposes of the DPA, Campus Elite Jamaica is the data controller for personal data processed on the Platform. Contact: admin@campuselitejm.com.

6.1 What we collect

• Identity & contact: name, email address, phone number, age, profile photo.
• Student details: institution, field and year of study, high school, student ID or acceptance letter (for verification only), residency status, home and current parish.
• Platform activity: points, XP, transfers, redemptions, activities joined, connections made, and content you post.
• Optional socials: Instagram/WhatsApp/Twitter handles you choose to add.
• Technical data: device/browser information and cookies needed to keep you signed in and keep the Platform secure.

6.2 Why we use it (purposes & lawful bases)

• To run your membership — account, wallet, rewards, notifications (performance of our agreement with you).
• To verify student status — protecting the integrity of a students-only network (legitimate interest / your consent when you upload documents).
• To match you with people and experiences — your institution, field of study, year, and parish are used to surface relevant members, activities, and opportunities to you (legitimate interest; profile fields beyond the minimum are provided by your choice).
• To communicate with you — service messages, and promotions where permitted; you can manage notification preferences in Settings.
• To keep the Platform safe — fraud and abuse prevention, security logging (legitimate interest / legal obligation).

6.3 What we never do

• We never sell your personal data.
• We do not share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing without your explicit consent.
• We do not reveal your contact details to other members without your action (see Section 5).

6.4 Sharing & processors

We share personal data only with: (a) service providers who process it on our instructions (such as hosting and email delivery), under contracts that protect it; (b) activity or reward partners, limited to what is needed to deliver something you signed up for; and (c) authorities where the law requires. Where data is processed outside Jamaica (for example cloud hosting), we take reasonable steps to ensure equivalent protection.

6.5 Your rights

Under the DPA you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; have inaccurate data corrected; request erasure of your data and closure of your account; object to or ask us to restrict certain processing; withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; and receive a portable copy of data you provided. To exercise any of these, email admin@campuselitejm.com — we respond within the timeframes the DPA requires. You may also complain to the Office of the Information Commissioner (Jamaica).

6.6 Retention & security

• We keep personal data only as long as your account is active or as needed for the purposes above, then delete or anonymise it. Verification documents are retained only as long as needed to confirm student status.
• We apply appropriate technical and organisational safeguards — encrypted transport, access controls, and least-privilege administration. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach is likely to harm you, we will notify you and the Information Commissioner as the DPA requires.

6.7 Cookies

We use cookies that are necessary to sign you in and keep sessions secure, and basic analytics to understand how the Platform is used. You can control cookies through your browser; blocking essential cookies may prevent sign-in.

7. Content & intellectual property

• The Platform, its design, logos (including CE Network and UNIConnect marks), and content we create are the property of Campus Elite Jamaica or its licensors.
• You keep ownership of content you post, and grant us a non-exclusive licence to display it on the Platform for community features (for example, your name and photo appearing in the activity feed).

8. Disclaimers & liability

• The Platform is provided "as is". Opportunities, activities, and rewards may change or be withdrawn. We are not a party to arrangements you make with other members or with activity partners, though we vet what we publish in good faith.
• To the fullest extent permitted by law, Campus Elite's liability arising out of your use of the Platform is limited to direct losses and excludes indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

9. Suspension & termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, abuse the points system, or put members at risk. You may close your account at any time; Section 6 continues to apply to data we retain, and Sections 7–11 survive termination.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the Platform evolves or the law requires. Material changes will be announced on the Platform, and continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance. The current version always lives at /terms.

11. Governing law & contact

These terms are governed by the laws of Jamaica, and the courts of Jamaica have exclusive jurisdiction. Questions, requests, or complaints: admin@campuselitejm.com.
